Debt Commission Hears from Sen. Graham and Sen. King At March Meeting

The Millennial Debt Commission convened again on March 30th to hear from Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC), Senator Angus King (I-ME) and a bipartisan group of members of the House.

During the meeting Senator King expressed “ethical” concerns about “my generation spending your generation’s money.” King dismissed Modern Monetary Theory as “popular because it’s easy,” going on to say “this ain’t Monopoly money.” Rep. Dean Phillips (D-MN) and Sen. Graham followed the former Governor of Maine with calls for bipartisan action to address the country’s fiscal woes.

MDF created a Twitter thread with highlights of the two-hour meeting of the Debt Commission, which was co-hosted by R Street Institute.

Freshmen Congressmen Peter Meijer (R-MI) and Blake Moore (R-UT) closed out the meeting with MDF’s Director of Operations & Partnerships Lindsay Conrad as well as MDF Founder Weston Wamp.
